Can I make a custom order?

Care and Instructions

Exterior Care and Maintenance

Keep decks clear of all debris especially organic materials such as leaves. Clean dirty areas as soon as noticed. Wash deck with a diluted deck cleaning solution if just water doesn’t loosen dirt. Use soft bristled deck cleaning brushes to clean deck surface and/or gently hose down the deck.
DO NOT USE STRIPPING DECK CLEANERS!
For any paint touch ups or application please contact DK Woodworks. 

 

Interior Care and Maintenance

Clean dirty areas as soon as notice.
Clean areas with lukewarm water.
DO NOT USE CHEMICAL HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS!

Is there any contraction and expansion with Shou Sugi Ban product?

Since wood is a natural product it responds to temperature and humidity by contracting and expanding. These changes can be noticeable in the appearance of the product. Items can experience small movements and cracks as it adjusts which is a natural occurrence of an organic product. We take the utmost care to ensure our products handle temperature and humidity changes in every home our products go into.

Painted and Stained Finishes:

 

 The artistic nature of the hand applied finish, along with the unique characteristics of natural wood grain can create a varied colour appearance. All finishes are susceptible to discoloration due to normal wear and tear and airborne particles. Every care is taken, and we follow the manufacturers application instructions as it relates to their product. Touch up or replacement items completed after installation may not result in exact colour match due to discoloration.

How do you apply your finish?

We aim to bring out the best in every piece of wood and apply our finish by hand, so the natural characteristics of the grain show through. When you work with wood, you must accept that each piece is unique and requires special attention to be made into something beautiful. 

FAQ: Return Policy

Returns and Exchanges:

 

  1.  Eligibility: 

 

Returns are accepted within 30 days of the original purchase date.

Products must be in their original, unused condition, with all packaging and tags attached.

 

  1.  Non-Returnable Items: 

 

Custom or special orders

Items that have been altered, modified, or treated after purchase

Products damaged due to improper handling or installation

 

Return Process: 

 

To initiate a return, please contact our team through our website with your order number and reason for the return.

Our team will provide detailed instructions for returning eligible items.

 

Shipping Costs:

 

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to an error on our part (e.g., incorrect item sent, defective product).

Original shipping fees are non-refundable.

 

Refunds:

 

Once the returned item is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 14 business days.

 

Exchanges:

 

We currently do not offer exchanges. If you wish to exchange an item, please return the original item and place a new order.



 

Disclaimers

 

Shou Sugi Ban treated lumber is a natural product; variations in color, texture, and grain pattern are part of the character of the wood and do not constitute defects.

Minor defects or imperfections that do not affect structural integrity are not grounds for a return.

Terms and Conditions

Our sales policy requires all orders to be prepaid, and we do not accept credit or cash-on-delivery sales. For orders under $20,000, full payment must be made at the time of order. For orders over $20,000, a minimum down payment of 70% is required, with the balance to be paid before shipment. Please note that the maximum storage period for your order is 30 days after it is complete. We invite customers to inspect their order in person before shipment. It is important to ship customer orders within 30 days of production completion. Failure to make the final payment within 30 days of order completion will result in a monthly charge of 5% of the order value (with a minimum of $200) to cover storage and handling fees. 

 

Buyer agrees not to resell or rebrand the Goods with any name other than "DK Woodworks." It is understood that Seller has the exclusive right to reproduce the Goods, and Buyer will not make any attempt to duplicate or replicate them. 

 

Please note that the Seller provides a warranty for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of shipment of the Goods. During this Warranty Period, the Seller guarantees that the Goods will conform to the specifications stated in the Order. However, any variations in color, tone, grain, or other natural characteristics that are dependent on the Seller's grading standards are not covered by this warranty. Apart from this limited warranty, the Seller disclaims all other warranties of quality, whether express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement of intellectual property rights of a third party.
